(NYC PICK UP ONLY) TWO SERVERS & SWITCH FOR FREE (PICKED UP)

I'm willing to ship but ONLY on the condition that I drop them off (as-is) at a UPS store and they do all the shipping & packing and it bills to your account. They probably aren't worth the scrap value to ship across the country so please don't think otherwise.

I have two really old servers - one is a Pentium 4 machine that works but the motherboard has blown caps, 1U full depth, IIRC 300W PSU, CD + Floppy (no dvd and BIOS will not support boot to USB). No HDD.

Second is an AMD (only AMD I've ever owned). Dual-socket but two single-core CPUs. Everything works fine, this was actually an old Lime Brokerage server that I was using as a router for a while. It's old, consumes a lot of power and it's loud as heck. 1U, full depth. CD + Floppy.

Both are free - but I want them gone ASAP so it needs to be a pickup only type thing. If you want to swap out the motherboard that's probably fine to keep the other stuff and then you can boot from USB plus if you want to spend up install a DVD reader. Both have one full-height slot in the back and take a standard 1U motherboard.

Switch is a Linksys PC22224 10/100 Layer2 switch - it's fine, works great just sells on ebay for less than it's worth to put in a box and ship. (24-port 10/100 switch with 2x optical modules (not installed))

If anyone wants to play around with a server chassis or decent (but old) small business/small enterprise switch they are in NYC and you can have them. March 1 they go to the recycle bin. I need to get rid of the old crap to make room for new crap.

Send me a note if you are interested in more specs - If you have rack space the AMD box could easily run an OpenFiler or FreeNAS box with 4x 2TB HDD in RAID... OR they could run as a firewall or similar. They aren't worth upgrading to newer motherboard in my opinion but if you have something laying around it might work. These are 1U chassis without rack ears. Could be decent tick database boxes or whatever but they are OLD, SLOW and consume a ton of power (as well as loud as heck).

Hey Win,  What type of warranty support and tech support do you offer with them. I am interested in learning about servers and maybe put a switch in my house. The thing is that I will need help setting it up and getting it working correctly.  Can you pre-install an OS and some other softeare if I mail it to you?  I would do it but some of the software I want to run is buggy and I am sure you have the ability to set all the correct settings better than me.

Some of the software is old and will likely need to download updates and that can be time consuming so I don't think I want to do it myself.

Yes of course I am joiking with you.

LOL Bob!

They were donated to a charter school for the Junior High kids to play with and learn about (or take apart, break, not figure out how to get back together and then recycle :) ).
